Association of Scientific & Technical Officers, a small group of less than hundred officers a forum of interaction for officers in ONGC was formed on 29th July’ 1961. 

Later on this group was recognized by ONGC as ‘ASTO’ and on 8th June’ 1967 got itself registered in Registrar of Societies, UP. 

During these forty four years ASTO has contributed to the growth of the organization and to the welfare of the members and their families. 

Now its strength has grown up more than twenty thousand. Present ASTO has a say in policy matters and capable to convince the management.

Our Mission / Vision

• To Safeguard and promote the individual and collective interest of the officers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.  
• To Promote the scientific, technical, managerial, social and welfare activities of officers; and  
• To Suggest ways and means to increase and miximise production and productivity of the ONGC in the best interest of the organization and country and to adopt measures to get the suggestions implemented.
